Правило 29
On the need for clergy to observe liturgical fasting on Maundy Thursday.
The canon of the fathers of the Council of Carthage commands that the sacrament of the altar be celebrated only by those who have not eaten anything, with the exception of one day in the year on which the Lord's Supper is celebrated. Probably, the divine fathers took advantage of such economy at that time for some local reasons useful to the Church. Therefore, when nothing prompts us to leave akrivia, we, following the apostolic and patristic traditions, determine that fasting should not be allowed on Pentecost, the Thursday of the last week, and dishonor the entire Pentecost.
