About the prohibition for clergy to combine and share grapes with a bloodless sacrifice among the people.
Since we have learned that in various Churches, when grapes are brought to the altar according to some deep-rooted custom, the clergy, combining them with the bloodless sacrifice of the offering, then share both together to the people, we decreed that henceforth none of the initiates should do this, but for the remission of sins and revitalization, teach the people only the offering. Let the priests consider the offering of grapes as an offering of firstfruits and, blessing it separately, give it to those who ask in thanksgiving to the Giver of those fruits, feeding on which our bodies, by Divine command, strengthen and grow. If any cleric acts contrary to what is prescribed, let him be deposed.
