On the prohibition of baptism for Jews who continue to “secretly observe the Sabbath.”
Since some who adhere to the Jewish error have decided to mock Christ our God: they pretend to become Christians, but secretly reject Christ, secretly observe the Sabbath and other Jewish customs, we determine not to accept such people either into fellowship, or for prayer, or into the Church, but let it be obvious that they are Jews by their faith, and their children should not be baptized, and they should not buy or acquire a slave. If one of them converts with sincere faith and confesses it with all his heart, exposing their customs and deeds in order to expose and correct other Jews, accept him and baptize his children and strengthen them in renouncing the Jewish way of life; if they do not treat you this way, do not accept them under any circumstances.
