That all those who have accepted the priestly rank should know and sacredly preserve the instructions of the rules issued by the legitimate church authority, incl. previous 6 Ecumenical Councils.
For those who have received priestly dignity as inheritance, examples of canonical decrees serve as evidence and guidance, accepting which with joy, the God-speaking David and I sing to the Lord God, saying: In the way of Your revelations I have enjoyed myself as if in all riches (Ps. 119:14) and In Your revelations You have commanded righteousness forever: Give me understanding, and I will live (see Ps. 119:138 and Ps.119:144). And if the prophetic voice commands us to preserve the testimonies of God forever and live in them, then it is clear that they remain unshakable (ἀκράδαντα) and unshakable. Moses, the seer of God, speaks about this as follows: It is not proper to add to this and to subtract from that (see Deut. 12:32). And the divine ap. Peter, boasting of them, exclaims: What angels desire to penetrate (1 Pet. 1:12). And Paul says: But even if we or an angel from heaven preached to you a gospel other than that which you received, let him be accursed (Gal. 1:8-9). Since this is truly so and is witnessed before us, then with joy, similar to that which someone would rejoice if he had found great prey (Ps. 119:162), we lovingly accept the divine rules and keep intact and without changes their commands, set forth by the trumpets of the Spirit, the all-praised apostles, as well as the 6 holy Ecumenical Councils, and the councils that met locally to set forth such decrees, and our holy fathers. All of them, being enlightened by the same Spirit, determined what was useful. And those whom they anathematize, we anathematize; those who are cast out, we also cast out; those who are excommunicated, we also excommunicate. And whoever they subject to penance, we also impose the same penance. Have a disposition that does not love money, being content with what you have (Heb. 13:5), clearly cries out the divine Apostle Paul, who ascended to the third heaven and heard ineffable verbs.
