On the procedure for considering an appeal from a convicted bishop.
If a denunciation is received against a bishop and the bishops of that region, having assembled, deprive him of his rank, and he, for the purpose of appeal, resorts to the most blessed bishop of the Roman Church, who, having wished to listen to him, considers it fair to resume the consideration of his case, then it is decided that the pope deigns to write to the bishops closest to that metropolitan region and that they, having carefully and carefully examined everything and are convinced of the truth, made a decision on the case. If someone begins to demand that his case be heard again and, at his request, the Bishop of Rome wants to send presbyters for his part, let this be in the power of the Bishop of Rome. If he considers it good and determines that those should be sent who will judge along with the bishops, being invested with the authority of the one by whom they were sent, let this be allowed. If he considers the consideration of the case and the verdict regarding the bishop sufficient, then let him do what seems to his most prudent reasoning to be good.

Ὅσιος ἐπίσκοπος εἶπεν· Ἤρεσεν, ἵν᾽ εἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος καταγγελθείη, καὶ συναθροισθέντες οἱ ἐπίσκοποι τῆς ἐνορίας τῆς αὐτῆς, τοῦ βαθμοῦ αὐτὸν ἀποκινήσωσι, καὶ ὅς περ ἐκκαλεσάμενος καταφύγῃ ἐπὶ τὸν μακαριώτατον τῆς Ῥωμαίων ἐκκλησίας ἐπίσκοπον, καὶ βουληθείη αὐτοῦ διακοῦσαι, δίκαιόν τε εἶναι νομίσῃ ἀνανεώσασθαι αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐξέτασιν τοῦ πράγματος, γράφειν τούτοις τοῖς ἐπισκόποις καταξιώσῃ τοῖς ἀγχιστεύουσι τῇ ἐπαρχίᾳ, ἵνα αὐτοὶ ἐπιμελῶς καὶ μετὰ ἀκριβείας ἕκαστα διερευνήσωσι, καὶ κατὰ τὴν τῆς ἀληθείας πίστιν, ψῆφον περὶ τοῦ πράγματος ἐξενέγκωσιν.
