On the procedure for appeals by deposed deacons and priests against the decisions of their bishop.
If the bishop turns out to be angry (which should not happen in such a husband) and, suddenly indignant at the presbyter or deacon, wants to throw one or the other out of the Church, care must be taken to ensure that such a person is not immediately condemned and deprived of fellowship. But let the ejected person have the right to resort to the metropolitan bishop of the same metropolitan region. If the bishop of the metropolitan area is absent, let him turn to a neighboring bishop and ask that his case be examined carefully, for those who ask should not be left unattended. But even that bishop who rightly or unjustly deprived him of his dignity must complacently endure the fact that the matter is being reviewed, and may his verdict be either confirmed or corrected. A person excommunicated should not demand communication for himself until the case is resolved, until all the circumstances have been carefully and reliably considered. If some of the clergy, having gathered, see arrogance and arrogance in the excommunicated person, then (since insolence and unjust complaint should not be tolerated) they must admonish him with very stern and strict words in order to maintain humility and obedience to the one who commands what is due. After all, just as a bishop must show sincere love and affection to ministers, in the same way, servants must unfeignedly perform deeds of service to bishops.

Εἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος ὀξύχολος εὑρίσκοιτο, ὅπερ οὐκ ὀφείλει ἐν τοιούτῳ ἀνδρὶ πολιτεύεσθαι, καὶ τραχέως ἀντικρὺ πρεσβυτέρου ἢ διακόνου κινηθείς, ἐκβαλεῖν ἐκκλησίας αὐτὸν ἐθελήσοι, προνοητέον ἐστὶ μὴ ἀθρόον τὸν τοιοῦτον κατακρίνεσθαι, καὶ τῆς κοινωνίας ἀποστερεῖσθαι. Ἐὰν δέ, συνεληλυθότες τῶν κληρικῶν τινες, κατίδωσι τὴν ὑπεροψίαν καὶ τὴν ἀλαζονείαν αὐτοῦ, ἐπειδὴ οὐ προσῆκόν ἐστιν, ὕβριν, ἢ μέμψιν ἄδικον ὑπομένειν, πικροτέροις καὶ βαρυτέροις ῥήμασιν ἐπιστρέφειν τοῦτον ὀφείλουσιν, ἵνα τῷ τὰ πρέποντα κελεύοντι ὑπηρετῶνται, καὶ ὑπακούωσιν. Ὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ ἐπίσκοπος τοῖς ὑπηρέταις εἰλικρινῆ ὀφείλει τὴν ἀγάπην καὶ τὴν διάθεσιν παρέχειν, τὸν αὐτὸν τρόπον καὶ οἱ ὑποτεταγμένοι ἄδολα τοῖς ἐπισκόποις τὰ τῆς ὑπηρεσίας ἐκτελεῖν ὀφείλουσιν.
