On excommunication from communion (up to age 13) for those returning to military service (required renunciation).
Those who were called by grace showed the first impulse of zeal and put aside their military belts, and after that they returned like dogs to their vomit (so that some even used silver and with benefits achieved that they were again included in the army), after three years of hearing, let ten years fall. However, in relation to all of them, their disposition and manner of repentance should be taken into consideration. Namely: those who prove their conversion by fear, tears, patience and good deeds - by deed, and not by appearance - let them, after completing a certain time of hearing, take part in prayers, as they should. At the same time, the bishop is allowed to treat them more humanely. But those who remained indifferent and considered that external entry into the Church was enough for them to convert, let them perform penance all the time.

Οἱ δὲ προσκληθέντες μὲν ὑπὸ τῆς χάριτος, καὶ τὴν πρώτην ὁρμὴν ἐνδειξάμενοι, καὶ ἀποθέμενοι τὰς ζώνας, μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὸν οἰκεῖον ἔμετον ἀναδραμόντες, ὡς κύνες, ὡς τινάς καὶ ἀργύρια προέσθαι, καὶ βενεφικίοις κατορθῶσαι τὸ ἀναστρατεύσασθαι· οὗτοι δέκα ἔτη ὑποπιπτέτωσαν, μετὰ τὸν τῆς τριετοῦς ἀκροάσεως χρόνον. Ἐφ᾿ ἅπασι δὲ τούτοις, προσήκει ἐξετάζειν τὴν προαίρεσιν καὶ τὸ εἶδος τῆς μετανοίας. Ὅσοι μὲν γὰρ φόβῳ, καὶ δάκρυσι, καὶ ὑπομονῇ, καὶ ἀγαθοεργίαις, τὴν ἐπιοτροφὴν ἔργῳ, καὶ οὐ σχήματι, ἐπιδείκνυνται, οὗτοι πληρώσαντες τὸν χρόνον τὸν ὡρισμένον τῆς ἀκροάσεως, εἰκότως τῶν εὐχῶν κοινωνήσουσι, μετὰ τοῦ ἐξεῖναι τῷ ἐπισκόπῳ καὶ φιλανθρωπότερόν τι περὶ αὐτῶν βουλεύσασθαι. Ὅσοι δὲ ἀδιαφόρως ἤνεγκαν, καὶ τὸ σχῆμα τοῦ εἰσιέναι εἰς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν ἀρκεῖν ἑαυτοῖς ἡγήσαντο πρὸς τὴν ἐπιστροφήν, ἐξ ἅπαντος πληρούτωσαν τὸν χρόνον.
