On a petition to the emperors to exterminate the remains of idols in Africa.
The most pious emperors must be asked to order the final destruction of the remnants of idols throughout Africa, because in many coastal regions and in various dominions this wicked error still flourishes. Let them order the destruction of the idols and order that their temples, which stand in the fields and in secluded places without any decoration, be destroyed in any way.

Ὧν χάριν αἰτῆσαι δεῖ τοὺς θρησκευτικωτάτους βασιλεῖς, ὥστε τὰ ἐγκαταλείμματα τῶν εἰδώλων τὰ κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν Ἀφρικὴν κελεῦσαι παντελῶς ἀνακοπῆναι· καὶ γὰρ ἐν πολλοῖς τόποις παραθαλασσίοις καὶ διαφόροις κτήσεσιν ἀκμάζει ἔτι τῆς πλάνης ταύτης ἡ ἀδικία· ἵνα παραγγελθῶσι καὶ αὐτὰ ἁπαλειφθῆναι, καὶ οἱ ναοὶ αὐτῶν οἱ ἐν τοῖς ἀγροῖς καὶ ἀποκεκρυμμένοις τόποις χωρίς τινος εὐκοσμίας καθεστῶτες παντὶ τρόπῳ κελευσθῶσι καταστραφῆναι.[1]
