That no clergyman has the right to earn his living by any shameful or dishonorable deed.
It was desirable that bishops, presbyters and deacons should not become employers or managers and should not earn their living by any shameful and dishonorable deed. They must heed the words of Scripture: No soldier of God binds himself to the affairs of this life (2 Tim. 2:4).

Ὁμοίως ἤρεσεν, ἵνα ἐπίσκοποι, καὶ πρεσβύτεροι, καὶ διάκονοι, ἐκλήπτορες μὴ γίνωνται, ἢ προκουράτορες, μηδὲ ἔκ τινος αἰσχροῦ ἢ ἀτίμου πράγματος τροφὴν πορίζωνται· ὀφείλουσι γὰρ ἀποβλέψαι εἰς τὸ γεγραμμένον· Οὐδεὶς στρατευόμενος τῷ Θεῷ, ἐμπλέκει ἑαυτὸν πράγμασι κοσμικοῖς.[1]
