On sanctions for bishops for neglecting the conversion of the Donatists.
If in relation to inventories (ἐν τοῖς ματρικίοις), i.e. in relation to sees, a bishop neglects heretics, let neighboring zealous bishops remind him and point out his own neglect, so that he has no excuse. If, from the day he was reminded, for 6 months, while staying in the same area, he does not take care of those who need to be returned to Catholic unity, do not enter into communication with such until he does this. If there is no executor in these places, let this not be imputed to the bishop.

Ἐὰν ἐν τοῖς ματρικίοις, ἤγουν ἐν ταῖς καθέδραις, ἐπίσκοπος ἀμελὴς γένηται κατὰ τῶν αἱρετικῶν, ὑπομνησθείη ἀπὸ τῶν γετνιώντων ἐπιμελῶν ἐπισκόπων, καὶ ὑποδειχθείη αὐτῷ ἡ ἰδία περιφρόνησις πρὸς τὸ μὴ ἔχειν ἀπολογίαν· ἐὰν δέ, ἀφ᾽ ἧς ἡμέρας ὑπομνησθῇ· ἐντὸς μηνῶν ἕξ, ἐν τῇ αὐτῇ ἐπαρχίᾳ διάγων, μὴ τῶν ὀφειλόντων εἰς τὴν καθολικὴν ἑνότητα ἐπιστραφῆναι τὴν φροντίδα ποιήσηται, τῷ τοιούτῳ μὴ συγκοινωνηθῇ, ἕως οὗ τοῦτο πληρώσῃ. Εἰ δὲ ὁ ἐπεξεργαστὴς εἰς τοὺς αὐτοὺς τόπους μὴ παραγένηται, τῷ ἐπισκόπῳ μὴ ἐπιγραφῇ.[1]
