That it is impossible to dissolve a legally concluded marriage on the grounds that the husband or wife has left their spouse.
It was desirable that, in accordance with the Gospel and Apostolic teaching, neither a husband abandoned by his wife nor a wife abandoned by her husband should enter into marriage with another person, but either remain so or are reconciled with each other. If they neglect this, let them be forced to repentance. It is necessary to ask for an imperial law to be issued on this subject.

Ἤρεσεν, ὥστε κατὰ τὴν εὐαγγελικὴν καὶ ἀποστολικὴν ἐπιστήμην, μήτε ὁ ἀπὸ γυναικὸς ἐαθείς, μήτε ἡ ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς καταληφθεῖσα, ἑτέρῳ συζευχθῇ· ἀλλ᾽ ἢ οὕτω μείνωσιν, ἢ ἑαυτοῖς καταλλαγῶσιν· οὗπερ ἐὰν καταφρονήσωσι, πρὸς μετάνοιαν καταναγκασθῶσιν· ἐν ὧ πράγματι νόμον βασιλικὸν ἐκτεθῆναι χρεὼν αἰτῆσαι.[1]
