Message to the Roman Bishop Innocent with a request for the establishment of peace in the Roman and Alexandrian churches in connection with the expulsion of John Chrysostom by Bishop Theophilus and his excommunication by Innocent for such an act.
It was desirable to write to His Holiness Pope Innocent about the disagreement between the Roman and Alexandrian Churches, so that both Churches would observe peace towards each other, which the Lord commands.
