World Day Against Human Trafficking: The newest form of exploitation, the online fraud industrytranslated

Thursday marks the global Day Against Trafficking in Persons, established by the United Nations General Assembly to draw attention to one of the worst violations of human dignity and to promote the protection of victims.

Human trafficking is a modern form of slavery, whereby men, women and children are recruited, transported or exploited through coercion, deception or abuse of power.

Exploitation can take many forms, from forced labor and sexual exploitation to organized begging, forced marriages or the involvement of victims in criminal activities.
