Fire Service Day was celebrated in Rogachevtranslated

July 25, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 24, 2026, a solemn event dedicated to the Fire Service Day of the Republic of Belarus took place in Rogachev. The cleric of the parish of the Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, Priest Alexander Tkachenko, took part in it.

The priest congratulated the fire service workers on their professional holiday and addressed them with a welcoming speech. Priest Alexander noted the responsibility that the work of rescuers requires, their readiness to act in difficult and dangerous circumstances, protecting the life and health of people.

“Your service is not just a profession, it is true service. A daily feat in the name of saving one’s neighbor,” the clergyman emphasized.

Chairman of the Rogachevsky District Council of Deputies Vladimir Feoktistov also addressed the employees. For conscientious work and high professionalism, fire service workers were presented with commendations.

Creative groups from the Rogachevsky district took part in the concert program.

It's good they had a proper celebration with thanks and a concert. Father Alexander's point about it being a daily feat of service really hits home – those men run toward what the rest of us run from. Our parish choir once sang at a similar event for emergency workers here in Toronto, and you could see how much it meant to them.

That's a nice connection you made with the Toronto event. Our choir sang at the fire station open house a few years back too, and the guys kept thanking us long after the last hymn. Makes you realize how much a simple thank-you or song can mean when someone's job is running into burning buildings every shift. Did your choir do anything special for them?
