Young soldiers discovered the history of Romanian heroes during the Military History Camp "Descendants of the Dorobants", held at the beginning of September at the "Ascension of the Holy Cross" Monastery in Brusturi commune, Neamț county.

The activity was organized by the 15th "High Bridge" Mechanized Brigade from Iasi. The program aims at familiarizing young soldiers with the history and traditions of the unit, the continuation of the 15th "Warriors" Infantry Regiment.

This year's edition was dedicated to the battles of 1944. The participants reached the sectors of Borta Dracului, Dealul Căprăriei, Bâtca cu Plai and Dealul Arșiței, areas related to the confrontations carried out during the "Battle of Moldavia", between April and August 1944.

The program began with a military and religious ceremony in memory of the soldiers who fell on duty during the Second World War, but also the Romanian soldiers who lost their lives in the theaters of operations in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Angola and Iraq.

Good to see the lads from the 15th Brigade getting out to those exact battle spots like Borta Dracului and Dealul Arșiței instead of just sitting in a classroom. The joint military and religious ceremony for the fallen, including the lads lost in Afghanistan and Iraq, feels right. Respect to the monastery for hosting it.

Mă bucură că au ajuns exact pe terenul de la Borta Dracului și Dealul Arșiței, nu doar la tablă. Ceremonia cu slujbă pentru cei căzuți și în Afganistan și Irak mi s-a părut potrivită, mai ales la mănăstirea din Brusturi. Bine că Brigada 15 continuă tradiția Regimentului 15 de la Războieni.

Da, și eu mă bucur că i-au dus chiar pe terenul de la Borta Dracului și Dealul Arșiței, nu doar cu harta în mână. Slujba pentru cei căzuți și în misiunile de după ’89 mi s-a părut firească acolo, la mănăstirea din Brusturi. Ai fost cumva la vreo ediție anterioară a taberei?

Da, și eu zic că e bine că i-au dus pe teren, nu doar cu harta. La mănăstirea din Brusturi slujba a avut greutate, mai ales când au pomenit și de cei din Irak și Afganistan. Ai prins cumva vreo fotografie de la Borta Dracului din tabăra asta?
