August 21, 2026 · 1 min read

On August 20, 2026, the rector of the church in the name of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the city of Penza, Archpriest Andrei Polyakov, paid a pastoral visit to the Phoenix Center for Social Adaptation. The priest told the center's guests about the Dormition Fast, as well as the feasts of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the end of the meeting, Father Andrei answered questions of interest from those gathered.

It’s good that Father Andrei spoke about the Dormition Fast and the Transfiguration right in the center. We also have such meetings in Tula, people always ask about food during Lent - is it possible to fish on a holiday. I wonder what questions they asked him?

It’s good that Father Andrei didn’t just talk, but also answered questions. Last year in Krasnodar, a similar priest came to a shelter, and they mainly asked whether milk was allowed during the Assumption Fast during the Transfiguration and how to properly cook fish without sin. I wonder what they asked at Phoenix?
