The social service of St. Simeon's Cathedral has completed the campaign “Let's help get the children ready for school!” It took place from mid-July and was aimed at supporting large and needy families. Help was also provided to social rehabilitation centers for minors in the Kurchatovsky and Kalininsky districts of Chelyabinsk. “The cost of preparing children for school is a significant item in the family budget. For families with many children and those in need, getting their child to school on their own can be difficult. Thanks to the help of benefactors and parishioners, we were able to support a significant number of families,” said the head of the cathedral’s Social Service, assistant rector for social service Yana Demidova. During the campaign, backpacks and stationery were purchased for 150 schoolchildren. The event has ended, but assistance to schoolchildren is accepted throughout September.
