Romfilatelia launched an issue of postage stamps dedicated to the Via Transilvanica routetranslated

Romfilatelia launched on Monday, in partnership with Poșta Română, an issue of postage stamps about Via Transilvanica, the first long-distance pedestrian route in Romania.

The philatelic series consists of four stamps, a lace envelope and two "first day" envelopes, which illustrate the main milestones of the project developed by the Tășuleasa Social Association.

The package, with a nominal value of 32 lei, presents the map of the route, and the stamps show the andesite marker, the volunteers involved in the construction of the road, the hiker's card and the travelers who cross it.

The philatelic launch highlights one of the most important projects dedicated to the promotion of Romania's natural and cultural heritage, through images representative of Via Transilvanica.

Via Transilvanica Inaugurated in 2022, after four and a half years of work, Via Transilvanica stretches over 1,600 kilometers, from Putna to Drobeta-Turnu Severin, and can be traveled on foot, by bike or on horseback.

The route crosses eight historical regions, ten counties and twelve UNESCO heritage sites, promoting cultural heritage, natural landscapes and local traditions.…
