Bishop Timotei of Spain and Portugal served on Saturday at the "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" Monastery in Aldeia de Santa Margarida, the only Romanian monastic settlement in Portugal. "We must seek the humility of Christ and the Mother of God," emphasized His Eminence.

The hierarch spoke about humility and obedience to the Mother of God as benchmarks for the Christian life. It also highlighted the honoring of the Mother of God with the way the Christian relates to others.

"The mind of Christ must also be in us: let us do nothing out of a spirit of contention or vain glory, but with humility, considering the other more honorable than ourselves and seeking his good."

"If we put into practice this teaching of the Savior, we will be able to get closer to God, and our souls will be beautified by the grace of the Holy Spirit," said His Eminence.

At the end, Mother Abbess Gabriela Chirilă thanked the hierarch for his presence and all those who supported the organization of the church.
