The Capital City Hall cleans over 300 historical monuments in Bucharesttranslated

The City Hall of the Capital carries out cleaning and maintenance works for 332 historical monuments under the administration of the Cultural Center "Palatele Brâncovenești de la Portile Bucureşti", according to a post on the institution's Facebook page, published on Wednesday.
The interventions concern statues, commemorative plaques, obelisks, bas-reliefs, sculptures and monumental ensembles made of bronze, marble, granite or stone.
The cleaning of a historical monument requires obtaining an opinion from the Ministry of Culture and tests of the materials on which the intervention is carried out.
The work is carried out by specialists and includes dust removal, hydrophobisation, patination, grouting, graffiti removal and removal of oxide leaks from stone and bronze. Interventions can also include volumetric additions, the extraction and reassembly of stone slabs, painting works and the restoration of degraded elements.
Different technologies are used for cleaning, depending on the material of the monument: laser, pressurized water jet, weak acids on granite, special solutions for bronze, sandblasting with dry gommage or dry ice.
