Resounding message of the Patriarchate of Georgia against exposing children to gamblingtranslated

The Patriarchate of Georgia expresses strong concern about the participation of minors in events related to gambling, calling on the competent state authorities to investigate similar incidents and take all necessary measures to protect children.

The reason for the intervention were incidents that have been recorded recently in various cities of Georgia, where, according to the Patriarchate, minors participate in events with content related to gambling. Among them is an event organized by the betting company "BetLive" in the city of Zestafoni.

As pointed out in the announcement, videos circulating on social media show that the related activities take place in front of a wide audience and that **"children are also given the opportunity to participate"**.

The Patriarchate underlines that the participation of minors in such activities, even when they are presented as a form of entertainment, can cultivate their interest in gambling and lead to a tendency to become addicted to gambling.

The Georgian Patriarchate is doing the right thing by raising this issue. In Nizhny, we are also full of betting advertisements at every turn, and when children stand at such events and are given a chance to “try”, it’s no longer a joke. It would be good for our authorities to pay attention before it’s too late.

The Patriarchate of Georgia says it right. In Zestafoni with BetLive, they let children "try out" in front of people, as if it were a game. Too bad, because then it's not easy to get the idea out of their heads. I hope they take action before it becomes a habit.
