Patronal celebration of St. Nicholas Church in Baksheevotranslated

On August 11, 2026, on the birthday of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patronal celebration of the St. Nicholas Church took place in the village of Baksheevo, Tevriz region, which, with the blessing of Bishop Vincent, was led by the rector of the church, priest Alexy Tishchenko.

At the end of the liturgy, a religious procession and glorification took place in front of the main church icon.

Your wonderful and glorious Nativity, to Saint Nicholas, / The Church celebrates the Orthodox today with joy, / for by standing your foot / the Lord will reveal you and proclaim you to be a lamp and a teacher to the laity,/ enriching and enlightening miracles for the whole world./ With this cry, pray to Christ God for the salvation of our souls.

Translation: Your wonderful and glorified birth, Saint Nicholas, is brightly celebrated by the Orthodox Church today, for by the fact that you stood on your feet (supported by no one, during Baptism in the font), the Lord showed you and proclaimed you to be a luminary and teacher for the laity, enriching the whole world and enlightening with miracles. Therefore, we appeal to you: “Pray to Christ God for the salvation of our souls.”
