The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Eleftheroupolis, Mr. Chrysostomos, officiated at the Mass of the Great Prayer Canon to the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the Pilgrimage Church of Panagia Faneromenis Nea Heraklitsis on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 His Eminence was flanked by the Archdeacon of the Holy Metropolis, Archimandrite Chrysostomos Benos, the Vicar of the Holy Pilgrimage, Archimandrite Palladios Zacharoudis, and the Deacon of the Holy Metropolis, Father Athanasios Gousidis.
Before the end of the Service, His Holiness addressed a paternal and didactic speech to the large congregation, referring to the meaning and deeper spiritual content of the word "supplication". Initially, he referred to the two Prayer Canons to the Blessed Virgin Mary, which are chanted alternately during the period of the Fifteenth of August, characterizing them as wonderful poems of great spiritual inspiration, through which the faithful express their love and respect for the all-holy face of Theotokos.
