Elder Justin, the watchful guardian of Jacob's Welltranslated

The entire Orthodox world has been saddened by the eviction of the blessed Elder Justin, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Jacob's Well in Samaria, a few days immediately after the eviction of the blessed Elder Chrysostom, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Agios Gerasimos of Jordan. On November 29, 2023, the blessed Elder, speaking to the journalist Maria Yachnaki, on the "Current Affairs" show, had stated emphatically: "I will be here until my last breath." It is a fact that the Elder kept his word.

His name was inextricably linked with the ground-up renovation and promotion of the Holy Monastery of Jacob's Well. With deep faith and warm love for Saint Sion, Mother of the Churches, and the Holy Pilgrimages, he dedicated his strength, efforts and a large part of his life to the renovation, the dignity and the preservation of the Holy Monastery, leaving a valuable legacy and an important work, which will keep alive the memory of his contribution.
