The first Supplication paved the way for the "Summer Passover"translated

The first Sacred Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos opened again this year the overwhelming course of August, a month dedicated entirely to the Mother of God. In an atmosphere of prayer and spiritual contemplation, the faithful are invited to prepare for the great Mother of God feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the "Easter of the Summer", as our Church aptly characterizes this glorious celebration.

On the evening of Sunday, August 2, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalon Mr. Timotheus officiated at the Vespers service and the first Holy Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen T.K. Rigau Farsalon.

During his speech, he mentioned that the first Prayer is the starting point of a spiritual journey, during which the Church prepares the faithful to actually experience the mystery of the Dormition of the Virgin. This preparation, as he underlined, is carried out through participation in the sacred services, the Divine Liturgy, confession, prayer and the cultivation of love and peace in relations with our fellow human beings.
