The memory of the miracle of Saint Barbara in Polydendri Oropoutranslated

The memory of the Miracle of the Great Martyr Barbara was celebrated today, July 15, 2026, in the village of Polydendri (otherwise known as Mazi) in the Municipality of Oropos, in the Parish Church of Agios Dimitrios. On the eve of the feast, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kifissia, Amarousiou, Oropou and Marathon Mr. Kyrillos officiated at the Mass of the Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers, assisted by priests of the Metropolis. This was followed by the procession of the Holy Icon inside the village of Polydendri.

At the end of the celebratory worship gathering, the Reverend Mr. Kyrillos preached the divine word, referring first to the chronicle of the miracle in the village of Polydendri, and then to the miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ, thus reminding that the "miracles" are one of the legacies of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ, which he handed over to the Saints of our Church.

The condition of the miracle is none other than true and unwavering faith. He even underlined that the faith of every Christian concerns the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is "The head of the Church".
