Clerical and lay officials of the Metropolitans of the Church of Greece to the Metropolitan of Belgiumtranslated

A group of visitors from various Holy Metropolises and ecclesiastical bodies of the Church of Greece were received by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, Mr. Athenagoras, on the afternoon of Monday, June 1, 2026, at the headquarters of the Holy Metropolis in Brussels.

The clergy and lay visitors are in the capital of Europe, invited by the Theophilist Bishop of Tanagra, Mr. Apostolos, Director of the Office of the Holy Church of Greece outside the European Union, in order to get to know the European Institutions up close, with visits to the European Parliament and other services of the European Union.

This three-day visit began with the customary visit to the local Metropolitan, who, in his brief greeting, welcomed the visitors both to his Province and to the seat of the Holy Metropolis. At the same time, he referred to the history and the diverse work of the local Church and thanked the Theophilus Bishop of Tanagra, Mr. Apostolos, for his kind cooperation, the observance of normal order and the respect he shows towards the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
