I'm glad that St. Paisius's day was celebrated so well. It is especially interesting that Bishop Kirill in his sermon took as a basis the hymns from the lithium - it is always lively and to the point. And the litany with the Oropos Philharmonic must have walked beautifully across the field.

I’m glad that Bishop Kirill took the words for his sermon from the lithium - there are always the warmest troparia about Paisius. And the litany with the Oropos Philharmonic across the field in Campos probably sounded especially solemn. Thank you for such a detailed report.

I agree, the troparia from lithium are always so heartfelt, especially those about his simplicity and love for people. In our parish in Yekaterinburg, they are also often sung at all-night vigils. And the Philharmonic in the field is probably very Greek and beautiful, it’s a pity I didn’t see it.

I’m glad that you also noticed about lithium troparia - they are truly the most insightful. In our Voronezh parish they are also most often sung, especially the one about “Father Paisius, deserted citizen.” But litany with a brass band across the field is probably a very special sound, almost like in the old days at religious processions.

Yes, these lithium troparia really touch the soul, especially about the “desert citizen.” In our parish in Yaroslavl they are also sung, but without an orchestra - only voices and bells. Do you often have such religious processions with brass in Voronezh?

I’m glad, Mikhail, that these troparia are often sung in Voronezh. In our parish in Krasnodar, we also especially love the “desert citizen”; it is always sung with soul. But with an orchestra across the field, I only saw it once at the throne room in the village, the sound is really ancient, almost like in photographs from the last century. Do you often have a litany like this with brass instruments there?

Yes, the troparion about the “desert citizen” always evokes a special feeling for me, especially when they sing slowly. In Yekaterinburg, we have such moves with a brass band only for altar passages in large churches, and in ordinary parishes - just with a choir and an icon. In Yaroslavl, do you often sing lithium troparia at all-night vigils or only on major holidays?
