Sunday Discipleship – Death as sleeptranslated

It is no coincidence that we do not celebrate the death of the Virgin but the Dormition, just as it is no coincidence that in church language we do not speak of cemeteries but of cemeteries. Death is not the end but the transition from the temporal to the eternal. We already got this message from our participation in the event of the Resurrection of Christ, we confirm it now with the transmigration of the Virgin, which is nothing but a resurrection.
As for the Gospel reading, the center of reference is not so much the behavior of Martha and Mary, as the voice of the woman who blessed the mother of Jesus for her enormous contribution to the Divine Economy, explains Apostolos Nicolaidis, Emeritus Professor of Theology at EKPA, President of the Institute Agios Maximos the Greek, on the show Sunday Apprenticeship.
