High Priest Divine Liturgy for the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Nafpliotranslated

This year, the Mother of God feast of the Nativity of the Virgin was celebrated with all the splendor in the historic church of the same name in the city of Nafplion. On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, a solemn High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held, officiated by the Metropolitan of Argolis, Mr. Nektarios. After the end of the divine service, the vicar of the church, Father Dionysios Tabakis, thanked Metropolitan Nektarios, the Priests and the faithful for the honor of attending today's celebration.

During the holy services Fr. Nikolaos Kantaifakis from I.M. Agios Dionysios of Mount Athos and the Hieropsaltis of I.N. George Mastis.

The Holy Church of Genesis of Nafplio, behind the current Archaeological Museum, is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the city of Nafplio.

Thank God that everything went well and with dignity. It is interesting to me that Father Nikolaos Kantaifakis from Saint Gora sang, it certainly gives special weight to the holiday. We hope that the Nativity of the Virgin will be as beautiful here in Nis next year.

Thank God it was nice with us too, but we didn't have anyone from Mount Athos. Interesting what you say about Nishi, have you heard if they will bring a special singer next year? Our deacon from the church usually comes to our place in Novi Sad, so it's always homely and warm.

Thank God that everything went so well. It is interesting that Father Nikolaos Kantaifakis came from Athos to sing - this makes the celebration really special. Locals usually sing with us in Batumi, but it would be good if such a guest came.

It's good that Fr. Nikolaos Kandaifakis came from Mount Athos, his chanting has a different weight. In Nafplio, the church is indeed one of the most beautiful, I remember going with my wife years ago. I hope that next year we will be at a similar festival.
