Magnificent litany of the Holy Icon of Agios Gerasimos in Argostolitranslated

The memory of Saint Gerasimos, the Patron Saint of the island, was honored again this year in Kefalonia with particular splendor and the participation of a large number of believers. The celebrations culminated on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the evening, with the procession of the Holy Icon of the Saint through the streets of Argostoli. Earlier, a Holy Prayer was held at the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, followed by the large procession of the Holy Icon of Saint Gerasimos through the main streets of the city.

In the procession, the Holy Icon was accompanied by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kitros, Katerinis and Platamonos, Mr. George, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Sisanio and Siatistis, Mr. Athanasios, the Most Reverend Mr. Epifanios of Mantineia and Kynouria, the regional Pastor, Metropolitan of Kefallinia, Mr. Dimitrios, as well as Theophilestatypo Bishop of Amoriu, Mr. Nikiforos.
