On Sunday, October 4, the parish of the Holy Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania welcomed the prelates of the Congregation of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA, who performed a pan-Orthodox hierarchal liturgy. At the Divine Liturgy, which was attended by more than 300 believers from the wider area of ​​Pittsburgh, the Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros, president of the Assembly of Bishops, presided, with the participation of hierarchs and clergy.

At the Orthro, the cantors of the Holy Cathedral of St. Nicholas sang, led by Amy Hogg, while at the Divine Liturgy the Pan-Orthodox Choir of Pittsburgh sang, under the direction of Archpriest Fr. Thomas Soroka.

Sounds like a solid turnout in Pittsburgh. I’ve always liked how Fr. Thomas Soroka pulls that pan-Orthodox choir together—makes the Liturgy feel bigger than just one parish. Bishop Irineos’ words on love being where God is hit home; we could use more of that reminder in our own parishes.
