Prayer service on the day of veneration of the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of God in Dobrushtranslated

September 18, 2026 · 1 min read

On the day of veneration of the icon of the Mother of God “Burning Bush” on September 17, 2026, a prayer service was held in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the city of Dobrush.

The image of the “Burning Bush” is associated with the Old Testament event of the appearance of God to the prophet Moses in a burning but not consumed bush and is perceived by the Church as a prototype of the Most Holy Theotokos, who retained her virginity after the birth of the Savior; In front of this icon, believers pray for protection from fires, disasters, and the preservation of life and home.

The prayer service was led by the church cleric, Priest Nikita Kulitkin. Employees of the regional department for emergency situations and parishioners of the church were present at the prayer.

At the end of the service, the priest thanked the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for their responsible service, wished them success in their work, strength and God's help. At the end, the rescuers were presented with magazines of the Gomel diocese “Sretenie” as a gift.
