Metropolitan Antonie, to the faithful of Soroca: Remain steadfast in the faithtranslated

September 2, 2026 · 1 min read

His Eminence Father Antonie, the Metropolitan of Bessarabia, met on Sunday with the members of the community from Soroca, Republic of Moldova, where he celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the "Holy Pious Parascheva" Parish. The Metropolitan encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in their faith and united around the Church.

The service was attended by many believers from Soroca and neighboring towns, who prayed together with the Metropolitan of Bessarabia for peace, health and blessing.

Metropolitan Antonie urged the faithful to stay close to Christ and the Church, showing that the confession of faith is made, above all, through the life lived in the spirit of the Gospel.

"The vineyard does not belong to us, but was entrusted to us to bear fruit. For each of us, it can be the family, the profession, the community or the responsibility received. God will ask us how we worked, how many souls we supported and how much good we left behind us", said the Most Reverend Father Antonie.

That quote about the vine really hit me—our lives aren't ours to waste, whether it's raising the kids, working my shifts at the hospital, or helping out at church. Good reminder to keep showing up steady, especially when things feel scattered. Thanks for sharing this.

That vine image stayed with me too, Grace. I keep thinking about how my own “vine” right now is mostly lesson plans and trying to get my daughter to eat something besides cereal. It’s a good nudge to treat even the ordinary stuff as something we’ll be asked about one day. How do you keep from getting scattered on hospital days?
