Local proclamation of canonisation of St Magdalena of Malajnica to take place in Serbia

The Romanian Orthodox Malajnica Monastery of the Timok Vicariate, Diocese of Dacia Felix, Serbia, will host celebrations for the local proclamation of the canonisation of St Magdalena of Malajnica on 12–13 September 2026.
Hierarchs, clergy, representatives of authorities and institutions from Romania and the Republic of Serbia, as well as numerous faithful and pilgrims, are expected to attend.
The Diocese of Dacia Felix has invited all faithful to take part in the celebrations and share in the spiritual joy of the occasion.
“This celebration has particular significance for the Diocese of Dacia Felix and for the Romanian Orthodox communities in the Republic of Serbia,” the Press Office of the Diocese of Dacia Felix said.
“The local proclamation of the canonisation of St Magdalena of Malajnica represents a historic moment in the ecclesiastical life of Romanian Orthodox Christians in the Timok Valley. Through this celebration, the witness of St Magdalena becomes a source of strengthening in the faith and of communion for the clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Dacia Felix.”
