Annual trip to Konevets Island: prayer, unity and gracetranslated

August 6th became a special day for students, volunteers, employees and graduates of the Network of Rehabilitation Centers “Abode of Healing”. According to a good long-standing tradition, the pilgrim group went to the blessed island of Konevets to touch the shrines and pray for the most sacred things in the silence of Lake Ladoga.

Throughout the visit, the guests were cordially greeted and accompanied by the monastery's housekeeper, Hieromonk Basilisk (Voronin). It was from meeting him that the main part of the trip began. In the lower Sretensky Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery, Father Basilisk performed a prayer service at the venerable relics of St. Arseny Konevsky. The pilgrims offered their prayers for health, peace in families and help in healing suffering souls.

Following the service, the group was given an extensive tour of the island. The guests reverently examined the majestic upper church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, admired the unique painting of the monastery gates, visited the secluded Kazan monastery and, of course, bowed to the famous chapel on the Horse-stone - the place where the Monk Arseny himself once prayed and cast out demons.
