On October 5, on Teacher’s Day, in the first building of the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University, as part of the extracurricular lesson “Talking about Important Things,” a meeting was held between students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the expert of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs, Ruslan Tkachenko.

Before the start of the meeting, university students solemnly brought in the flag, and the anthem of the Russian Federation was played.

The head of the department for work with youth of the Simbirsk diocese, Sergei Nikolaev, introduced the guest and invited students to participate in the Orthodox youth club “Simbirsk”, which has been operating at UlSPU for a year now. At club meetings, passages from the Holy Scriptures and topics relevant to young people are discussed with the clergy and invited guests, and excursions are held around the churches of our city.

Ruslan Anatolyevich spoke about the educational program “Spiritual Connection”, implemented by the Synodal Department for Work with Youth, and about the shrine - the ark with a piece of the belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is located from October 3 to 7 in the Ascension Cathedral.
