Defining "Foma" as a journal for the perplexed, we certainly did not claim to provide a clear and unambiguous solution for any "lost" reader after reading a few issues. Christ calls Himself the Way (John 14:6), on which we are called to enter and along which each person must travel throughout their life. It would be naively simplistic to seek a catapult that would instantly transport you to the Kingdom of Heaven. Yet, we have often encountered the expectation that the journal would provide a universal formula that would help resolve all spiritual doubts in any specific situation quickly and effectively. Where such logic comes from, I believe, is clear: if church life is based on canons, or rules, then there should be a corresponding "step-by-step instruction" for all problematic cases.
This reminds me of two conversations I had at the "Parsun," although on different topics, but essentially about the same thing.
