Archbishop Lucian performed a prayer service before the miraculous Albazin Icon of the Mother of God “The Word became Flesh”translated

On September 11, 2026, Archbishop Lukian of the Annunciation and Tynda performed a prayer service with the reading of an akathist in the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary before the miraculous Albazin Icon of the Mother of God “The Word became Flesh.”

During the service, prayers were offered to the Most Holy Theotokos for peace, strengthening of faith and well-being of the inhabitants of the Amur land.

A prayer service with an akathist before the miraculous Albazin Icon of the Mother of God “The Word became Flesh” is performed in the cathedral weekly, uniting the clergy and parishioners in common prayer.

At the end of the prayer service, Archbishop Lucian addressed the believers with an archpastoral word.

Then the Bishop performed a funeral litany for the ever-memorable Venerable Hermogenes of Albazin, the first Orthodox priest on the Amur, whose ministry is connected with the history of the Albazin prison and the Albazin Icon of the Mother of God.
