On September 1, on the feast of the Don Icon of the Mother of God and the first day of the beginning of the school year, Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichuga performed the Divine Liturgy and prayer singing before the start of the school year in the Church of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Kiev, Moscow and All Russia, miracle worker at the Interdiocesan Center for the Training of Church Specialists.

Metropolitan Joseph read a prayer for Holy Russia and led the praise.

Concelebrating with the Bishop were the rector of the church, Hieromonk Feofan (Naumov), the confessor of the Center, Hieromonk Macarius (Markish), Priest Mikhail Kupriyanov, Protodeacon Pavel Konik and Deacon Kirill Shtanin.

Staff and students of the Interdiocesan Center and parishioners prayed in the church.

The choir of the Center's singing department sang during the service under the direction of the head of the singing department, Ilya Sablin.

After the service, the archpastor visited the Transfiguration family club, which teaches children according to the Russian Classical School system.
