Meeting with seventh graders at the Myronositsky Church in Istratranslated

October 5, 2026 · 1 min read

On October 2, students of grades 7 “B” and 7 “D” of school No. 2 had a wonderful time on an excursion to the Myronositsky Church in Istra 🕊It was not just a walk, but a very deep and useful meeting.

The cleric of the church, Priest Maxim Saryev, warmly talked with the guys. He told us who the church was named after, who the myrrh-bearing women were, and how the Bible answers the question about the origins of man. The conversation about the power of words was very important and relevant. The guys thought about how important it is to monitor what we say, because words are really material. We remembered with pleasure the proverbs and sayings in which folk wisdom has preserved this idea for centuries.

At the end of the meeting, in the silence and tranquility of the church, the guys placed candles in front of the icons. It was very touching to see how many of them approached the icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the patron saint of all students, lit candles and prayed for successful studies.
