Saint Joasaph of Belgorod: from canonization to the second discovery. Part 12. Return of the shrine: the path of the relics from St. Petersburg to Belgorodtranslated

With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, we conclude our series of materials devoted to the history of the canonization, loss and second discovery of the relics of St. Joasaph, Bishop of Belgorod, with a story about how the incorruptible relics of the Saint returned to the Belgorod region. From this event, our land began to be called Holy Belogorye and we, the inhabitants of Holy Belogorye, repeatedly witnessed the invisible intercession of our Saint and Wonderworker for us. Saint Father Joasapha, pray to God for us! On July 12, 1991, on the day of the holy supreme apostles Peter and Paul, the holy relics were dressed in full bishop's vestments and placed in a new tomb. Hegumen John (Popov), archpriests Oleg Kobets and Leonid Konstantinov took part in the vestments. On the evening of July 13, the Transfiguration Cathedral greeted with the ringing of bells the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Alexy II, who arrived for the celebration of the second discovery of the relics of St. Joasaph of Belgorod.

Along with him came: Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga John, Archbishops of Kursk and Belgorod Yuvenaly, Tambov and Michurinsky - Evgeniy, Bishops of Ulyanovsk and Melekess - Proclus, Novgorod and Starorussky...
