600 sets of teaching aids on defense industrial complex were transferred by the Simbirsk diocese to schools in the city and regiontranslated

With the blessing of Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky, in September the Simbirsk diocese donated textbooks to schools in the city and region for studying the course “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture.” “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture” (FOC) is a training module of the complex course “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics” (FOCSE), introduced by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation into the school curriculum for fourth grades of secondary schools. The module that children will study is chosen by the parents of future fourth-graders.

– Often, when choosing the module “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture,” schools are faced with the problem of purchasing textbooks for studying this subject. Therefore, the Simbirsk diocese purchased books and transferred them to schools that had previously submitted such a request,” explained priest Nikolai Gensitsky, curator of the diocesan department of religious education and catechesis.

A total of 600 sets of teaching aids were donated to schools in the city and region. The transfer of teaching aids will continue.
