October 4, 2026 · 1 min read

The Holy Hieromartyr Filoumenos, Abbot of the Holy Pilgrimage of Jacob's Well in Samaria, was martyred on November 29, 1979, remaining faithful to his mission and prayer until the end. His martyrdom shocked the Orthodox Church. In 2009 he was officially included in the Holy Book of the Orthodox Church. Blessed Archimandrite Iustinos, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Jacob's Well, spoke to journalist Maria Yachnaki about his life and martyrdom.
