"Dimitria 2026" 8th day: High Priestly Divine Liturgy with the Metropolitan of Thessalonikitranslated

Resurrection Orthros and High Priestly Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday morning, October 4, 2026, in the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios of the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Mr. Filotheos, flanked by the vicars of the Holy Church and the Archdeacon of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens Fr. Dimitrios Phocian. His Holiness, in his inspired speech, analyzed the Gospel reading, pointing out: "God speaks to us about love. Not as a simple feeling, but the love that is a characteristic of God, His uncreated love, with which He created all creation", and continued: "Christ, in the Gospel reading, asks us: "What do you think you are doing when you offer love only to those who love you? This is what non-religious people also do". That is why the Lord commanded us to love our enemies".

His Holiness closed his speech, inspired by the apostolic reading: "He who sows sparingly will also reap a little, while he who offers with the grace of God, with love and a willingness to give to all, he will reap much more", and he wished: "May we all be able to become sharers in life...
