A spiritual view of freedom from addictions: the rector of the Lida Church of All Saints talked with students of city secondary school No. 11translated

Archpriest Vladimir Yaromich took part in an open dialogue with students of 7 “A” class of Lida secondary school No. 11 named after. N.I. Popova. The schoolchildren were offered a topic entitled “Bad habits and how to deal with them.”
The conversation took place in a confidential, warm and lively atmosphere. Class teacher Natalya Nikolaevna Anashkevich and father Vladimir invited the children to look at the problem of addictions not only from a medical point of view, but also through the prism of spiritual and moral health. During the conversation, the clergyman emphasized that any bad habit - be it foul language, gambling addiction, addiction to gadgets, smoking or more dangerous hobbies - begins with small things: giving in to weakness, unwillingness to show willpower and the desire to be “like everyone else.” Father Vladimir reminded the children that man was created for freedom and joy, and any addictions, on the contrary, make him a slave to passions and destroy both the body and the spiritual world.
The seventh graders showed sincere interest in the topic and actively participated in the discussion. Students asked Father Vladimir questions that concerned them: how to develop willpower, how to properly cope with stress and fatigue without harmful “shelters”.
