Charity visit of Archbishop Stefan to IUOT No. 17translated

The social service of the Church includes attention to people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Support is also necessary for those in correctional institutions.
On October 4, 2026, His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, made a charitable visit to open-type correctional institution No. 17 of the Department of Execution of Punishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in the Gomel region.
Women are serving their sentences in the institution, many of whom have faced serious life difficulties and need simple human care.
During the visit, Archbishop Stefan donated humanitarian aid to the institution for the wards: toothpastes and brushes, shampoos, shower gels and other necessary personal hygiene products.
The administration of the institution expressed gratitude to Archbishop Stefan for his attention to the needs of women and the assistance provided.
