On September 6, on the 14th week after Pentecost, on the day of the transfer of the relics of St. Peter, Metropolitan of Kyiv, Moscow and All Rus', wonderworker, Hieromartyr Eutychus, disciple of the Apostle John the Theologian, Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky performed the rite of the great consecration of the church and Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Maloe Nagatkino.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were the dean of the Tsilninsky district, Priest Vladimir Manyakov, Priest Andrei Korunov, Priest Mikhail Lazarev, the head of the protocol service of the Simbirsk diocesan administration, Priest Valery Stavrovsky, Deacon John Kosyakov, and Deacon Grigory Shevchenko.

The Gospel and part of the liturgical texts were read in the Chuvash language.

In recognition of his work for the benefit of the Simbirsk Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church for his contribution to the construction and beautification of the church in honor of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Maloe Nagatkino medal of Blessed Andrei Simbirsk, III degree, was awarded to philanthropists V.I. Khapkov and Yu.P. Merlushkin.

Bishop's letters were awarded to S.A. Khapkova, N.V. Khapkov, V.A. Mulyanov, V.F. Pashne, A.P. Kebe, S.L. Matuka, S.P. Albutov, R.N. Kostina.

Thanks for posting this. Nice to see the Gospel read in Chuvash — that must mean a lot to the local families. Congrats to the Khapkovs and Merlushkin on the medals; sounds like they put in real work on that church.

The Chuvash Gospel reading really stands out—good to see the local folks hearing it in their own tongue like that. Congrats to the Khapkov family and Merlushkin on the medals; building and fixing up a church takes years of steady work. I wonder if they’ll have any photos of the new iconostasis up soon.

The Chuvash Gospel reading is a nice touch—my nursing shift buddy from those parts always says it hits different when you hear the words in your own language. Glad the Khapkovs and Merlushkin got recognized; building that church sounds like it took real steady effort from a lot of hands. I wonder if they’ll post any pictures of the new iconostasis.
