In Chelyabinsk they told how the offering of the right hand of St. Spyridon will take placetranslated

A press conference dedicated to the bringing of the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimythous to the Southern Urals was held at the KP-Chelyabinsk press center. The secretary of the Chelyabinsk diocese, Archpriest Igor Shestakov, and the head of the protocol service of the Chelyabinsk diocese, Hieromonk Mikhail (Rudakov), answered the journalists' questions. Participants in the press conference spoke about the significance of the upcoming event, the procedure for meeting the shrine, round-the-clock access to it, security measures and the work of volunteers. As Archpriest Igor Shestakov noted, Saint Spyridon enjoys special veneration among Orthodox believers. According to him, bringing a shrine gives people the opportunity to strengthen their faith and hope. “Today, perhaps more than ever, we need spiritual strength, spiritual courage, spiritual unity. Any visit to a shrine first of all makes a person wake up, think, and detach himself from everyday issues,” said Father Igor.

He also emphasized that the bringing of the relics of St. Spyridon testifies to the continuing ties between the Orthodox Church in different countries.
