PHILADELPHIA, PA [DOEPA] - On Sunday, September 6, 2026, following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Diocesan Cathedral of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the faithful gathered to offer a Molieben for the students and teachers of the parish Sunday School as they begin a new year of Christian education and formation.

It's good that they did the molieben right after the Liturgy. My daughters have already finished college but I remember how helpful it was for the kids to start the year with that blessing. I hope teachers and students do very well in 2026-27.

It's good that they do it right after the Liturgy, as Diego says. Here in the parish it has always helped us to get the children off on the right foot. I hope Philadelphia teachers have a calm year and the kids learn well.

It is good that the prayer service was held immediately after the Liturgy, as is often done here in Odessa. My children have already grown up, but I remember how they liked it when Father blessed textbooks and briefcases separately. May this year bring benefits to children in Philadelphia as well.
